Wi-Fi has become an important part of our lives. Don’t you agree? Just think about it. From getting up in the morning with the downloaded movies to going office and updating your apps, getting back at home and browsing your favourite channels on YouTube and going to bed after clicking on the system update that will be completed by the next morning!
All of us have Wi-Fi that delivers the same content BUT what is always unique is the name that we use for our Wi-Fi network. Using this insight, the team at Phonethics designed a campaign for one of its tech client, DIGISOL.
The campaign was conceived in 2014 and was named #NameYourWiFi: a contest on Twitter that invited people to share fun names for their Wi-Fi. It caught the imagination of Twitter users across the country as the contest began trending on an All India basis.
In 2015, we brought back NameYourWiFi. The campaign started with creating buzz by tagging twitter handles, using popular hashtags and inviting the participants of 2014. It was great to see the direct messages from the existing participants who remembers the contest and would love to participate again.
For 4 days, participation came from across the country. From quirky shayris to film dialogues, the audience was all in for the challenge of showing their creativity. The campaign got even interesting after starting a conversation with the participants.
The campaign attracted 4000+ engagements and over 2.5L impressions within 4 days. The winners were shortlisted by the team and DIGISOL goodies were sent to them. It turned out to be a successful campaign again.
